Chatsworth is a family home and a thriving visitor attraction at the heart of a working estate, which continues to evolve and be shaped by the people who live, work and visit here.
The Chatsworth House Trust, a registered charity established and endowed by the Cavendish family in 1981, is responsible for the preservation of Chatsworth for the benefit of the public. The charity relies on income from visitors, the Friends of Chatsworth, sponsors, grants and donations to undertake an ever-expanding programme of maintenance, restoration and conservation; to increase educational opportunities for all ages; to improve the visitor experience; and to make improvements in the garden and park.
Your support will make a tangible difference by contributing directly to conservation needs that the charity is currently unable to undertake. There is an ever-increasing list of projects requiring urgent attention for which your support will be critical; this could include painting conservation, archive digitisation or historic restoration.
Looking after Chatsworth and its collection requires constant attention, with conservation and maintenance needs to the fore. Many people care deeply about Chatsworth and its future - as a Patron of Chatsworth you will play a significant role in helping us meet this need.

Patrons event programme
We are delighted to announce our 2020/21 programme of Patrons events, which this year includes a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the house, garden and park. Patrons have exclusive access to the curators and management team at Chatsworth and play a vital role in ensuring the long term stewardship of Chatsworth. Explore two of our past Patron's events Curiousities of the Devonshire Collections and an intimate Patrons' garden tour and view the full programme.
Thank you all for arranging all the splendid Patron‘s events this year. What a terrific end to the year with the ‘Garden evening’ on that glorious sunny evening. I have thoroughly enjoyed every event and learning more about Chatsworth. Highlights are hard to pick out of such an interesting and varied programme but I’m still blown away by seeing so many items from the collection up close including the Henry VIII Boxwood Rosary. - Sally, 2019 Patron of Chatsworth
