Patrons of Chatsworth

As a Patron you will have exclusive access to Chatsworth, the collections and the curatorial and management team via the events programme. These give an insight into how Chatsworth is looked after and an opportunity to delve into the depths of the Devonshire Collections which are brought to life by the knowledge and passion of the Chatsworth staff.

2023 programme

VIP Exhibition Launch Party

6pm | week commencing 20 March 2023 (exact date tbc)

Chatsworth has always been a centre for creativity, with successive generations of the Cavendish family commissioning art and design that was contemporary to their times. Mirror Mirror: Reflections on Design at Chatsworth reflects on that history and introduces new works into the house and garden, bringing this legacy into the 21st century. 

Patrons are invited to the launch of the 2023 house exhibition with a champagne and canape reception.

Education at Chatsworth

6pm | 26 April 2023

Join the learning and engagement team for an evening of bite-sized talks, workshops, and activities. Patrons will be invited to participate in taster sessions from our art and outdoor programme for schools and will learn about our outreach projects and family activities. 

Treasures from the Collections

6pm | 17 May 2023

An exclusive opportunity to join the Chatsworth curators for a private viewing of some key items from one of the most important private collections in Europe.

Hosted in the Library, Patrons will be given a rare sight into items not seen on public display. 

Music and Chatsworth

6pm | 21 June 2023

Join our archivist and librarian, Fran Baker, and postgraduate researcher and pianist, Elizabeth French, as they take you on a musical journey at Chatsworth.

The evening will include opening up the Devonshire Collections to look at some of the interesting music-related items, in addition, Elizabeth will talk through and play some of her research including excerpts from a book of music likely put together by Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. 

Garden tour

4pm | 23 August 2023

Take a walk through the kitchen garden and glasshouses with Mick Brown, production garden manager, and one of our talented horticulture students as they talk through the day-to-day activity in this bustling corner of the Chatsworth Garden. 

The event will include a look at the past, present, and future of the garden and glasshouses as well as an opportunity for you to 'pick your own' produce.
