Event Details

Sunday 8 November

9.30am to 4pm | £125 per person

Includes all materials, refreshments, and house and garden entry on the day of the workshop.

Learn how to create, carve and print Christmas cards and gift tags using your own seasonal designs in this lino printing workshop.

About the session

This introductory workshop explores one of the many techniques of printmaking. Linocut is a relief printing technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used as the relief surface. The design is then cut into the linoleum surface with a selection of specialist tools, and printed using printing ink.

You will be shown how to produce a lino print, then invited to experiment by overlaying and combining colours, using various surfaces to print on. At the end of the session, you will have a series of gift tags and cards in your own design, as well as a lino block you can take away with you to continue printmaking at home.

All materials are included, and no previous experience of printmaking is required. Please be aware that this workshop is intended for adults only (18+). Printmaking can get messy, so please bring an apron or wear suitable clothing.
