Let your imagination run wild in our nature play areas in the Pinetum and south of the Grotto Pond, where you can construct, balance and create with wooden blocks.

Our Naturally Curious trail picks out features in both the house and garden that are favourites with younger visitors.

Please note, access to the house and garden will require a ticket.

A-mazing

Can you find the centre of our Maze? Leading to it are 100 steps - can you count them?

Climbing and racing

Climb the steps in the giant rockery for an amazing view and discover the depths of the garden.

Water, water everywhere

From the winding Trout stream to the Emperor fountain which can shoot water over 250 feet in the air, there's water everywhere.

Did you know all the water in the garden comes from the lakes above and feeds the water in our toilets?

Access to Stand Wood is free, however, a ticket is needed to complete the garden part of the trail.
