Have an adventure and get closer to nature in Stand wood with the Great Big Tree Climbing Company who are the largest provider of recreational tree climbing in the country, offering a safe and fun way to enjoy trees from a new perspective.
This is a great family activity suitable for adults and children. Tree climbing tests balance and co-ordination and you will feel a huge sense of achievement when you have completed a climb. The tree’s location in the Stand wood allows you to get up close with nature. Climbs, which do not damage the trees and are led by a fully qualified instructor, are available for up to 8 people at a time.
You must be over 6 years old to take part in this activity. Our climbing technique does require you to have a reasonable level of strength in your lower and upper body. The majority of work is done with your legs but participants are required to be active and healthy. We are able to help children who struggle but adults who are unable to carry out the technique will not be pulled up by our instructors.
This event takes place at the Dell in Stand wood. Please allow at least 30 minutes to park and reach the location for your timed slot. There is a fairly steep incline to reach the venue. The walk through Stand Wood may include uneven ground and steps which may not be suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. The event will take place whatever the weather so please dress appropriately. We recommend sturdy footwear, layers and a waterproof coat.
Sessions last one hour. Please arrive at least 15 minutes at The Dell in Stand Wood before your one hour session starts.
