Event details
The workshops can be attended individually, or all three in succession.
- Monday 5 August: Seeds and Soil
- Tuesday 6 August: Fruit and Flowers
- Wednesday 7 August: Plants and Propagation
10.30am to 12.30pm
£8.50 per child | £2.50 per adult
All children must be accompanied by an adult. Max 1 adult per child.
These hands-on workshops have been designed for children aged 7-12 years and provide an introduction to growing flowers, fruit and vegetables - knowledge and practical skills they can build on while at school, and later in life.
Based in our Stickyard outdoor learning centre, each of sessions will involve exploration into the Chatsworth Garden and Glasshouses. Children can discover different soil properties, how to make compost and why it is used, how to plant different seeds, how to take cuttings and what to do with them, and what plants need to thrive.
Important
Please can all attendees bring water and snacks if required.
We will be going out whatever the weather so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
