Sessions are suitable for pre-schoolers aged 3-5 years old.
What we'll be doing each week
From sunflowers to strawberries and potatoes to pumpkins, your little ones will enjoy learning how to sow and grow a range of plants at our fortnightly gardening club. We'll also be discovering more about wildlife and helping insects thrive by making butterfly feeding stations and a wormery, all while making friends and having fun.
At each session children will also be able to have a go at watering, weeding and making sure all the plants are happy.
Please be aware that activities are subject to change due to factors beyond our control.
Plant sunflowers to take home and watch grow. We'll also be decorating plant labels so you know which one is yours.
Learn how to chit potatoes and find a good spot for them, and have a go at planting some greens.
Explore the Kitchen and Cutting Garden for butterflies before making a butterfly feeding station.
Make a pea propagator, plant runner beans, and find pea sticks to help them grow.
Enjoy a bumblebee safari before planting some bee friendly plants and getting creative by decorating your plant pots.
Plant out your potatoes and then have a go at building a den.
Sow pumpkin seeds ready for the autumn and look after your peas and beans.
Learn all about saving water before having a go at making and decorating a milk bottle watering can. We'll also be planting strawberries.
Explore the garden on a sensory garden walk and learn more about soil.
Discover what worms get up to under the surface of the soil by making your own wormery.
Go on a bug hunt and learn more about some of the creatures you discover.
Collect flowers to create your own flower posy or crown and learn how to plant up some nectar-rich flowers.
Help out our gardeners by collecting some seeds before harvesting some delicious fruit and veg.
Have a feast on the fire pit.
