Learn how to create, carve and print Valentine's Day cards using your own designs in this lino printing workshop.
About the session
This introductory workshop explores one of many printmaking techniques. Linocut is a relief printing technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used as the relief surface.
The design is then cut into the linoleum surface with a selection of specialist tools and printed using printing ink.
You will be shown how to design, transfer, cut and print your lino, and you will have the opportunity to explore various ways of adding colour.
At the end of the session, you will have created your own unique Valentine's Day card and a range of prints.
All materials will be provided. You may like to bring an apron to protect your clothes.
Meeting point and refreshments
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.50am for a prompt 10am start.
Tickets include tea and coffee throughout the sessions.
Accessibility
The Old Potting Shed (our base for each session) is a step-free, accessible venue with an accessible toilet.
The workshop is suitable for all abilities; however, it does require manual dexterity.
