About the course
The course is suitable for absolute beginners and will cover a variety of techniques over the sessions, including observational drawing techniques, safe use of tools, mark making, transferring your design, and printing techniques.
Other areas covered include:
Monoprints
Drawing from pot plants grown in the service glasshouse at Chatsworth, this is a great way to practice your drawing and mark making skills whilst getting to know your equipment and learning how ink responds to line and pressure.
Linocut prints
Carry out observational drawing and develop these in the studio to design and prepare your first linocut. Create prints on different surfaces and explore collaged grounds to print on to.
Texture & Shape
Experimental printing with a range of textured surfaces and shapes. Using found objects, leaves and recycled materials, create a series of exciting abstract imagery.
Collagraph printing
Using drawings to design and create a new collagraph plate for printing.
Meeting Point and Time
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 1.20pm before each session.
