Explore a variety of ink-based techniques in this expert-led workshop. 

About the session

Join us for a day of experimentation with ink. 

In this workshop, you will be guided through a variety of traditional and non-traditional techniques, including observational drawing and developing skills in line, shape and tone. 

There will also be the opportunity to create your own brushes and drawing tools from both natural and man-made materials. With these tools, you will be guided through processes of mark-making and pattern, along with responding to music and mood.

All materials will be provided.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided.

We will break for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch. The Carriage House Café will be open for hot meals, soup, and sandwiches.

Meeting Point

Please meet at 9.50am at the top garden gate next to the Stables for a prompt start at 10am.

The Old Potting Shed is fully accessible, including an accessible toilet.

About the artist

Paperbased is run by Kim Bevan, an artist and teacher who provides workshops for all ages here at Chatsworth, and in her studio in Sheffield.

In her own practice, she explores 3D folding techniques within books, along with creating artwork using paper cutting and printmaking.
