Uncover another layer of Chatsworth

Join us on 18 March at 3pm for a private VIP viewing of our 2020 exhibition Life Stories with a welcome from the Duke of Devonshire and remarks from the Director of Collections and Exhibitions.

Immerse yourself in fascinating stories of people who had or have a connection to Chatsworth - from past members of the Cavendish family to handmaids and servants, foreign dignitaries and resident artists, Life Stories will unveil a side of Chatsworth never before seen.

Explore some of the Devonshire Collections’ beautiful portrait miniatures, which are rarely on view, such as the early 19th century portrait (as seen above) of Ladies Georgiana and Harriet Cavendish as children, daughters of the 5th Duke of Devonshire painted by Richard Cosway.

Patron's events programme

Becoming a patron is not only your chance to help conserve one of the best loved visitor attractions in the UK but also to get up close and personal with treasures from the Devonshire Collections.

This is just one of our exciting events exclusively on offer to our patrons. Past events have included private guided tours with our Head Gardens and Domain, Steve Porter, who shared insight on the development and evolution of the garden over the last 500 years and an evening with our Collections Manager, Alice Martin, who revealed some of the stranger items housed at Chatsworth, including an Edwardian cucumber slicer and a range of scientific instruments created and used by Henry Cavendish, grandson of the 2nd Duke of Devonshire.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a Patron, please contact Sarah Owen at sarah.owen@chatsworth.org.
