There are so many things to do at Chatsworth. Explore the house, garden and farmyard, enjoy a walk through the parkland or in Stand Wood (both free-to-access), gather friends and family for lunch, brunch, or afternoon tea, or discover gifts, homewares, jewellery, and clothing from local makers and sustainable businesses in the shops.
We also offer a wide range of talks, tours, and workshops themed around gardening, history, textiles, conservation, rural skills, and creative pastimes, allowing you to learn something new during your time with us.
Chatsworth House
Chatsworth House is home to the Cavendish family and has been passed down through 16 generations, starting with Bess of Hardwick, in Queen Elizabeth I's reign.
Explore more than 25 rooms in the historic house including the Painted Hall, State Rooms, and Sculpture Gallery, and discover its extensive art and sculpture collection. Learn how succeeding generations have each made their mark on one of the country's finest stately homes.
You can also explore our 2023 exhibition, Mirror Mirror: Reflections on Design at Chatsworth. This new exhibition in the house and garden reflects on 500 years of creativity and contemporary art at Chatsworth.

Chatsworth Garden
Discover the 105-acre Chatsworth Garden, the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation and still ever-evolving. Sit and enjoy the vistas or take a walk to admire some of the many features, including an arboretum, rock garden, fountains, sculptures, glasshouses, and more.

Chatsworth Farmyard and Playground
If you're looking for things to do with kids, the farmyard has been a favourite day out for families since 1973. There are so many farmyard friends to meet, from Eugenie the rare breed Suffolk Punch mare, and Grace the pygmy goat to a collection of cute Guinea Pigs you can cuddle.
Our woodland playground offers hours of adventures and excitement for all ages, with a zipline, water, and sand play.
