Free event, please book your ticket in advance.
Join us after hours for an evening exploring the fascinating lives of bats.
Using special bat detectors, you’ll learn about echolocation (reflected sound) and the different bat species that live around Chatsworth. You might even spot some other nocturnal creatures.
As this event is outside in the evening, please dress appropriately for the weather with warm layers, a waterproof coat and sturdy footwear. We recommend you bring a torch. We will be located near the river.
All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Meeting point
After parking in the main visitor car park, follow the path to Paine’s Bridge in front of the house (image below), located on the road into Chatsworth that crosses over the river. You do not need a parking ticket for this event.
Important
Please look out for pedestrians near the bridge when driving into Chatsworth.
